LJ 3: Social Media Metrics and Analytics
“Social media sites offer unique opportunities to measure human nature and communication behavior. (Lipschultz, 2017, p. 156)” The quote above, is something that was mentioned in our readings this week. I found this really interesting because it reminds me of something that I see happening often. Using social media, companies can gather information on how customers are buying their products. Companies can begin to advertise and update their websites to make it easier for customers to navigate through them. A good example of this is the evolution of shopping. In the beginning, shopping was something that was physical. You would go out of your house, walk through the aisles of the store and buy things that you may or may not need. Then, people started shopping online, so companies made their websites easier to navigate through. They also started creating mobile apps so that you can buy the things you need on the go without actually going to the store or even opening up a stores website. ...
